It’s summer and wedding season is officially over in Dubai, and while it Is ridiculously hot here we know that come October the weather will cool down and we will be back in wedding action. The summer gives us all a break, a time to sit back, relax and sometimes reflect on the past wedding season. I know for many of my fellow wedding lovelies, the summer is time for a vacation back home, and a break from business. So I thought it would be fun to catch up with some of my favourite vendors on MLW before we take a break.
So today our good friend Sanjay, the main man at Firenze Flora tells us what he’ll be doing this summer. Seriously, he’s the man that makes things happen. He’s also fluent in Japanese and is like a walking encyclopedia for flower knowledge.

Do you have any big plans for wedding season starting in October?
Well we are well underway with booking for the new season and even have some weddings and events though the summer. We will be participating at the Quintessentially Wedding show at St Regis Dubai late September so hope to get experience and interact with prospective clients. Besides that we hope to grow the volume of business we are doing.
What’s been the highlight of the last 6 months?
We did one large wedding at short notice at the Arena, Jumeriah Beach hotel for a discerning client that was a good challenge. The end was result was great and we had a happy and well satisfied client.
What will you be doing this summer?
We are all taking some time out in turns from the office. I’m heading home to New Zealand to spend some time with family and have some good rest and relaxation. I am to going to be fighting fit for the new season.
What will you be packing for your summer holidays?
Warm clothes for the winter down under!
Any advice for brides getting married next season?
Plan ahead as much as you can and interact with various vendors at an early stage. Use a wedding planner or day coordinator if you can manage to as it certainly makes things go smoother on the day. Work on a moodboard as this will help you get clarity of what looks and feel you are after.
